Bronco Tyres 145/70/R16

"Simon, Paul du Preez gave me your e-mail address. I want to try their tyres, but is just concerned that the sidewalls may blister as I am doing a lot of off-road traveling and many a time at 1.2 bar, because of thick sand and mud. He said I must ask you, as you have experience on these tyres. I do a lot of traveling in Botswana, as I work in Botswana. Just returned from a 2 week trip in the Moremi and Tsodilo hills. I travel in a 1992 BM Gelandewagen, and my average speed is 90 km/h on tar and 25 km/h off-road. So I don't think that heat will be a problem, but fully laiden the vehicle weighs about 3 tons."

Thanking you,
Ian Bester

RE:Bronco Tyres 145/70/R16

"Hi Ian I have been using Bronco's 245/70/16's on my Land Rover Discovery (vehicle weight 2.8 tons) for 8 months now and have done approx. 10000 km's on them to date. I have found them to be extremely efficient off road, using them in The ''green Kalahari'' where there is a combination of very thick soft sand and very sharp shale rock. Temperatures range from 40 degrees to 55 degrees on most days, and the sand is nearer 70 degrees by mid day. I deflate to 1.3 bar for the duration of my time there, (last trip was 14 days) as I find this to be the best pressure for both types of terrain. Because of the nature of my work I am sometimes forced to drive fast over very rough terrain with no regard or respect for the tyres on the vehicle. I have used many different types of tyre over the years but nothing compares to the Bronco off road. I have not been able to damage the tread, at all. Even under the worst circumstances. This cant be said for the other makes of MTR tyres I have used. I also had great service from the tyres on my trip to Addo Elephant Park this year where the terrain is mostly clay and shale rock. To get to these destinations I travel towing 1.5 ton trailer loaded with 2 quad bikes, a full compliment of camping gear, a vehicle full of filming equipment and 3 passengers. I normally inflate to 2.6 bar for tar road driving under these circumstances. Although I can travel at 120kms an hour I tend to stick to 100kms an hour. Once again, I can't fault the Bronco's. There has been no sign of any blistering on any of the tyres and the wear and tear is barely noticeable. Aside from this, they are great to drive on the road, particularly in the wet, I am very impressed. If there is anything else you would like to know please don't hesitate to give me a shout."

Kind Regards
Simon

Binne 'n week was my nuwe band by my huis afgelewer. Dankie Gardiol, julle is nommer 1! Ek verloor eerder 'n R950 band in die veld as een van R2500+."

Bronco Tyres - Bring it on!
Bring it on.
